78 Cafe at Penang Street

Where is 78 Cafe? Before this, I would tell you I'm clueless. I seldom eat around here, but during CNY we were looking for hawkers that might be open, so Mom suggested we come here for its curry mee. Have a look.

Nutmeg & Lo Han Kuo - RM 1.50 each
The nutmeg drink is so refreshing and quenching, I have never tasted any better nutmeg drink than this. If you have, please let me know. They give you two of its fruit in it as well. The homemade drink is divine. Even the Lo Han Kuo is nice too. The sweetness tasted natural and leaves you wanting more.
Curry Mee
The curry mee at Poly Cafe, Pulau Tikus has closed down and that was one of my favourite but now I have found another. :)
Char Koay Teow
Char Koay Teow was not too oily however I should have asked for more chili. Overall, I considered it very nice. I enjoyed it.
The variety of food they have shown on the wall.
Lots of traffic
Just photos of some of the other stalls.

Brussels Beer Cafe at Gurney Paragon

My taste has traveled far to Korea, Japan, German, Italy and now to Belgium however my body never left Penang, Malaysia. To be specific, I was at Gurney Paragon sitting comfortably at a high chair in Brussels Beer Cafe having a taste of Belgium is more like it. They have such a wide variety in their menu and it is also noted which dish has beer in its dishes. I browsed and decided on Chicken Waterzoo, as it sounded interesting. And I kind of liked it, its soup is pleasant and with the rye bread, everything just went well together and definitely fills my tummy nicely.  We all shared the Grimbergen mussels and it was truly fresh and tasty. I must say its worth the price and its reasonable. It comes with garlic bread, I wondered why the combination but I never asked. Curiosity aside, the creme brulee was indeed excellent mm..mmm. The portion was small for the pork chop though and that left my friend with a frown. Not recommended for hungry ones but only for very petite eaters. Other dishes tasted sort of plain and normal. Nothing to be loud about...

Liege Salad - RM16.80
Brussels Pasta(Spaghetti) - RM 22.80
Mini Fish and Chips - RM13.80
Grimbergen Mussels - RM25.80

Chicken Waterzoo - RM 25.80
Pork Chop - RM28.80
Cream Brulee - RM9.80

After a scrumptious meal, its time for a walk and that's when I learned a thing or two about the history before Gurney Paragon. The evening ended with some colourful water in our midst. Find out more at Sue-World: A Night at Gurney Paragon

Roti Jala Special at Batu Feringghi

Roti jala is a malaysian food you cannot miss. If you have not tried this, you have got to try it! It is delicious and extremely reasonable and a service you will appreciate. The man has a great sense of humor, treats us like we are just his next door neighbour. I like this roti jala at Belimbing Cafe 'cos its huge which is the first I have seen and it costs only RM0.80 per piece. The curry chicken and the lamb curry is also nice to go with especially when its hot. Watch the making of his roti jala.....

When you reach the roundabout of the end of Batu Feringghi (end of the world) this is what you will
see and you take a left turn on Jalan Titi Kerawang . The cafe is just round the corner of the roundabout.

The huge banner will catch your attention and you can park your car on the road or beside the cafe
Roti Telur - RM 1.20
Roti Jala - RM0.80
Tapai Ice cream - RM 2.00

We decided to try the tapai ice cream you see above and I might say it could suit those who are used to rice wine as its fermented rice was abit sourish. After awhile I sort of accustomed and found it not too bad. It's an acquired taste. Later on we all shared on this large mee goreng by the stall selling within the cafe itself. Its not too bad in my opinion. But my friends all liked it very much :)

Mee Goreng - RM4.50 (large)

Roti Jala Special - Love it Love it!

It's closed on MONDAY ! And it starts from around 7.30am - 11am
