Tarbush Restaurant, Batu Feringghi

After a long morning celebrating a friend's birthday at the beach,  we were famished. Curious on how Tarbush is like, we wandered there being one of the first two customers they have.
The decor was intricate,  walls was colourful, somewhat like a 'Aladdin' ballroom. It would have been more lovely in the night.

Menu is made of different meat dishes like chicken, mutton, beef either with kebab or rice. Overall I would say it's all good. In Penang there are not many Middle Eastern cuisine, I would say give this first a try. : )

Roti Jala Special at Batu Feringghi

Roti jala is a malaysian food you cannot miss. If you have not tried this, you have got to try it! It is delicious and extremely reasonable and a service you will appreciate. The man has a great sense of humor, treats us like we are just his next door neighbour. I like this roti jala at Belimbing Cafe 'cos its huge which is the first I have seen and it costs only RM0.80 per piece. The curry chicken and the lamb curry is also nice to go with especially when its hot. Watch the making of his roti jala.....

When you reach the roundabout of the end of Batu Feringghi (end of the world) this is what you will
see and you take a left turn on Jalan Titi Kerawang . The cafe is just round the corner of the roundabout.

The huge banner will catch your attention and you can park your car on the road or beside the cafe
Roti Telur - RM 1.20
Roti Jala - RM0.80
Tapai Ice cream - RM 2.00

We decided to try the tapai ice cream you see above and I might say it could suit those who are used to rice wine as its fermented rice was abit sourish. After awhile I sort of accustomed and found it not too bad. It's an acquired taste. Later on we all shared on this large mee goreng by the stall selling within the cafe itself. Its not too bad in my opinion. But my friends all liked it very much :)

Mee Goreng - RM4.50 (large)

Roti Jala Special - Love it Love it!

It's closed on MONDAY ! And it starts from around 7.30am - 11am

Tree Monkey, Batu Feringghi, Penang

Tree Monkey restaurant at Tropical Spice Garden stands at a perched hill overlooking the Andaman Sea. Beautiful panoramic scenery depiction as I peered through the trees and saw the luscious sunset and sea. There is a slope to walk up and for those wearing stilettos may probably have a problem here, especially on the way down. The view is astounding from every angle and i am awed with beautiful nature we have around us.

Here is where we dine, at the standalone table, appearing under the 'hut'. We have a cosy corner and granted a bell service that is we were given a small bell to ring if we need any help. Sweet!
It is known that they have a pork free menu. This is Thai Tapas where you get to choose a mixture of appetizers. We picked the 12 pieces for RM45 and our choices were Prawn Sabai, Mussel Salsa, Darling Crab, and Lemongrass Skewer. My top best taste would be the Mussel Salsa, the chili and lime taste was superb. The darling crab and lemongrass skewer was stuffed with seafood filling.
Whole Fish with Lime and Chili with mint leaves - RM38.80
Tumeric Rice - Fried Rice with Tumeric and Celery - RM4.80
Masaman Curry - RM 10.80 (Small)

The Masaman curry is another Thai dish that contains cashew nuts, chicken, star anise and potatoes. I didn't know what Star Anise was when I read it on the menu but now i know after I go-ogled it. Here is all about Star Anise and how its been used in dished like this.
